Today it was the funeral of one of our sisters: Teresa Hennessy.  The funeral was in Australia and here in Indonesia I followed the ceremony in my heart and prayer.  Teresa was a great woman who lived her FCJ life to the full and gave her all to those she ministered to and most especially the poor.  Long before the Church was calling us all to commit to “the option for the poor” Teresa had made it her life’s work.  She spent many years in the Philippines and was able to open the way to education and a bright future for many children, young people and families.  On her return to Australia Teresa ministered to refugees and continued to work for the people in the Philippines.  In her final years Teresa bore suffering with courage, humour and a strength of spirit that was truly inspiring.  I am  grateful that Teresa…
